To that end Charleston Ballet Theatre Center for Dance Education Directors Don & Patricia Cantwell and Jill Eathorne Bahr announce the following information update for the 2016-2017 Season:
For dedicated dance students enrolled in alternative school programs (home school, online school, other alternative school arrangements), Coastal Ballet USA will offer additional training during the day in our Pre-Professional Academy.
The program offers 20 hours of dance class per week and a school room with WiFi for afternoon study time. An important part of this offering will be guest teachers, trips to other academies on the East Coast, and participation in the Youth America Grand Prix. The school approaches the YAGP, not as a competition, but as an opportunity to intensify a dancer’s confidence on stage and fine-tune their stage presentations. The exposure to scholarships, apprenticeships and opportunity for added stage time experience (show in November, December and the Spring) is invaluable to a young aspiring dancer.
The Pre-Professional Academy”, is designed for dedicated students aged 10-19, who are focused on a professional career and also possess the many attributes necessary for success. Participating dancers must either be home-schooled or early-release students, so they may experience rigorous daily training in a healthy manner that doesn’t overburden them. The program is designed for self-driven, extraordinary hard workers who excel physically and mentally.
